Late March fishing forecast

Spring is an interesting time for the coastal waters of East Central Florida.  Days of sun and temperatures in the 80's give way to only the strongest of cold fronts and the winds seem relentless.  March blows!  Always.  Fushing can be just as hot or cold as the temperature outside.  The warm water loving snook and tarpon do thier best to shake off the cold.  Redfish and trout being a bit better suited for the cooler temps will look to take advantage of the spring influx of bait by becoming ever more active as the month closes out.

Near Coastal eyes will always be trained on the hope for cobia action just off the coast this time of year, only time and work will give hint to it being a slow or banner year for those.

In Port Canaveral the snook bite ramps up as well as the mangrove snapper.  Both tend to enjoy the warmth our change in seasons.  We get a last few shots at the spawning sheepshead schools also.  They will continue into the lagoon system and settle on the bridge spans, docks, and mangroves for summer.
Offshore will have everyone waiting for the winds to settle and the mahi to show.  April and May will hopefully find us having chances at those along with an increase in kingfish availability.
